Goodbyes Are Never Easy
By Justin Hild, Public Relations Intern
Encompassing this summer in a single post is simply impossible. I honestly do not know where to begin. Coming into this internship I felt inadequate, nervous and unprepared. I felt as though I couldn't meet the expectations that were required. I could not have been any more wrong.
Intermark taught me confidence, hard work, determination and how to handle adversity. I have never met a group of people as helpful and caring as the group at Intermark. They taught me more about myself and my craft than I ever could have learned at school. To say that I am sad to head back to Auburn is an understatement. I will never forget my time here or the people who made it so special. I told myself that I would not get emotional on my last day, that goodbye would be easy, but it just is not possible.
I personally want to thank my fellow interns for putting up with my loud, goofy and sometimes outlandish self. We laughed, cried, stressed and struggled together, but most importantly, we did not kill each other. When I say I would do anything for each one of you, I mean it. It is difficult to put into words how much these incredible people mean to me. You guys will forever hold a place in my heart.
I also want to thank the Public Relations Department. You all have taught me more life lessons than I can count. I especially want to thank Summer, my manager, for always having a smile on her face and believing in me even when I did not believe in myself. No matter if I had a good day at work or a bad day, she never stopped encouraging me. Finally, I want to thank our client for allowing us to work with such a unique and incredible brand. Finding out who our client was at the beginning of the summer was daunting, but their humble and genuine team dispelled any anxiety we had. There were still a lot of nerves and late nights stressing about the final presentation, but the client’s faith in us gave us the confidence to deliver a great product. Again, I cannot express how much this internship has shaped me, and I truly will never forget any of you.
